2nd Bonus Point Opportunity - Fall Semester 2024

5 Additional Bonus Points are available to those who correctly complete the following:

A 4 kg globe of radius 0.15 meters, treat as a spherical shell, is supported by an axle running through the north and south poles. A string (massless) is securely wrapped around the equator of the globe and pulled a total distance of 5 meters with a tension of 28 N, causing the globe to have a constant angular acceleration. Determine the final angular velocity (rad/s) of the globe.

Work it out correctly on a single sheet of paper.
Include all the details, problem statement, and your correct solution, showing all work.
Be very careful to accurately draw the FBD.
Scan it and save as PDF, then send it to me directly via email:
bwoodahl@iu.edu
Do not use Canvas Messages to submit!
I must receive it by 5:00 PM of Friday, December 6 (no late submittals).
If you do not receive an email back from me, then I did not receive your submittal.

These points carry the same weight as exam points (like earning 5 extra exam points).
(This is in addition to the 10 bonus points listed on Info webpage.)
